Combat Control Officer for 315th Security Platoon
The Swedish Armed Forces is in an expansion phase and on a comprehensive growth journey. Here you have the opportunity to work in a dedicated and close-knit team where you can develop while contributing to the organization's development journey. Does this sound like something for you? Read on!
About the Unit
The 13th Security Battalion is an operational joint combat unit of the Armed Forces with high material and personnel availability that can operate across the entire conflict spectrum. The battalion's main task is to detect, clarify, and counter security-threatening activities in the form of foreign intelligence gathering, crime, terrorism, sabotage, and subversion directed against the Armed Forces' prioritized assets.
The battalion operates preventively through security intelligence services and security protection-enhancing measures. Our vision is that the 13th Security Battalion breaks the adversary's deniability and creates conditions for the entire Armed Forces to meet every threat and overcome every challenge. Do you want to contribute to increasing security at the 13th Security Battalion by working with security protection-enhancing measures? We are now looking for a Combat Control Officer for the 315th Security Platoon.
The 315th Security Platoon is part of the 13th Security Battalion and is based at F 16 in Uppsala. The platoon solves varied tasks within the framework of military security services with a focus on intelligence gathering through troop reconnaissance.
Main Responsibilities
As a combat controller, you will be part of the platoon leadership together with professional officers and soldiers. Your main responsibility is to lead the platoon's capability-enhancing training between operational periods, as well as to be part of temporarily assembled command teams during security operations. There, the combat control officer is responsible for coordinating intelligence-gathering resources and executing orders from higher command.
The combat controller is consistently the bridge between patrols and higher command. You need an understanding of both the methods at the patrol level and how security operations are led and the legal mandates to independently make decisions in ongoing operations.
The work involves periods of significant time away from home, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Within the Armed Forces, we always work as a team. Our organization is based on collaboration, adaptability, and a shared responsibility for the whole. This means that we are all prepared to support each other, sometimes even outside our own areas of expertise and comfort zones. Therefore, as an employee, you may sometimes face new types of tasks. This is a natural part of working in the Armed Forces that serves both the agency and the employee's development well, and you will never be given a task that you do not have the conditions to handle.
